Qualification to be Indian citizen born after 1st July 1987

Citizenship laws of Republic of India to be Indian citizen by birth

Aadhar card, Passport, Ration card, Voting card, birth certificate are not enough to claim Indian citizenship for those who born after 1st July 1987. Under citizenship law one of the parent must be Indian citizen for those who born after July 1, 1987.

For all born after 3rd December 2004 can claim for Indian citizenship if both parents are Indian or atleast one parent is immigrant Indian at the time of the birth.

According to the Bombay High Court verdict, birth certificate can show a person was born in India and other documents like Aadhar card, Passport, Ration card etc. may show that person lived in India but these documents are not suffice according to the citizenship law to be a citizen of Republic of India.
