Google dedicates 13th Feb Doodle to Indian poet Sarojini Naidu

Google creates curiosity for Hyderabad born Sarojini Naidu on 13th Feb 2014 Doodle

Google decides to give one day 13th February Doodle to Hyderabad born and active Indian National Movement activist Sarojini Naidu. Today is her 135th birthday. She is also behind Woman's Indian Association (WIA) formed in 1917 along with Annie Besant.  

Sarojini Naidu was born in Hyderabad on 13th Februrary 1879. She got chance to work with great leaders like Gopal Krishna Gokhle, Muhhammad Ali Jinnah, Annie Besant, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. She led 1925 Cownpore anual session of Indian National Congress.

Sarojini Naidu got married with a doctor at 19 years of age. Her father approves this intercaste marriage. The couple had 5 childrens. One of her daughter followed her footsteps and become the governer of West Bengal.

Sarojini Naidu died of heart attack at her office in Lucknow on 2nd March 1949.
