Google and Audi to develop in-car android os based in-car music and navigation system for advanced cars

Internet giant and world's leading search engine Google joins hand with Audi to develop Android based in-car music and navigation system. Android is the world's most deployed and explored mobile operating system.

Google's step to join hand with a car maker for developing android based music and navigation system is followed by rival IT giant Apple's success in exploring iOS with other leading car makers. Apple's iOS based music and naviation system are very popular. Apple has signed deals with BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Ferrari, and Infiniti automakers for iOS features into their onboard devices.

Unlike Apple's iOS, Google's Android will work with car maker's own hardware. Android OS wide acceptability among electronic giant as a open source operating system gives opportunity to build useful apps with numerous possibility in different environment.

Google and Audi to come close in Las Vegas Consumer Electronic Show 2014 (CES 2014). Their first Android powered music and navigation system would be embeded in 2015 models.
